In Their Shoes: Annual Fundraiser

In Their Shoes: Annual Fundraiser

Save the Date: April 18, 2026

Did you know that, on average, people experiencing homelessness walk up to ten miles a day?
To access food, clothing, shelter, and other essential resources, many must travel across the city—most often on foot, since transportation can be costly and limited.

You can make a difference by joining us for our 6th Annual In Their Shoes Fundraiser and Walk on Saturday, April 18, 2026. This two-mile, family-friendly walk is both educational and inspiring—it’s a chance to step into the shoes of our guests and better understand the daily challenges they face.

Your participation helps raise vital funds that sustain Central Outreach and Advocacy Center’s work to open doors to overcome and prevent homelessness.

What is In Their Shoes?

This two-mile walk around COAC offers a powerful, family-friendly way to experience the challenges our neighbors face while raising vital funds for their path forward. Led by the dedicated staff of the Central Outreach and Advocacy Center, the walk guides participants through meaningful stops along the route—including a visit to the nearby Department of Driver Services, where so many of our guests begin their journey toward stability by securing a state ID or driver’s license. Together, we’ll step through the realities our neighbors navigate each day and learn how essential services, advocacy, and community support open doors to hope and opportunity.
