2022-2023 Annual Report
This past year has been a great year! I feel like we are back to full capacity with staff, volunteers, and interns. As a result, we are able most days to see all the people who are lined up outside needing services. We have added partner agencies. We have added a work clothing closet. It’s been a good year!
2021-2022 Annual Report
In some ways, 2022 was a year of transition for the Central Outreach and Advocacy Center. At the end of 2021, we had two employees leave the OAC, which meant we needed to look at staff structure and determine what was needed. We did just that and by March 2022, we were back to being fully staffed and trying some new job descriptions. It has worked well, and you will see some of the fruits of the transition as you read through our annual report.
2020-2021 Annual Report
In 2021, we still found ourselves living in the midst of a pandemic. However, we had found a good groove at Central OAC in serving our guests. We continued using the safety protocols that we had put in place in 2020, not only because of the pandemic, but also because we found out that the new way of operating worked for our staff and guests.
2019-2020 Annual Report
2020 was a year that none of us could’ve imagined. However, we found a way to still serve our guests. The operations of the organization looked different, but we continued to open doors to overcome and prevent homelessness by providing our important services. We are grateful to be able to serve our guests and to those who have continued to support our work. After closing temporarily to ensure the safety of our guests and staff, we gradually resumed operations over the course of several months starting with 1 day open and continued to serve 3 days per week. Though we faced challenges as we navigated new safety restrictions operationally, the 2019-2020 fiscal year included both programmatic and financial successes.
2018-2019 Annual Report
Overall, 2018-19 was a positive year programmatically and financially. We ended June 2019 in a positive financial position. We shifted our fiscal year from a January-December calendar to a July-June model. We’re excited about this change and how it will affect annual giving.
2017 Annual Report
2017 was a positive year programmatically and financially. The Board of Directors approved a switch in date for our Cheers for Change and Central ArtWorks fundraisers. Cheers for Change was moved to the spring and Central ArtWorks to the fall. Our Main Frame Coordinator, Ahren, became a full-time employee after three years of serving part-time. We transitioned our Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) from Pathways to Client Track in conjunction with other service providers.
2015 Annual Report
Central OAC has a story to tell, and, in 2015, we committed to being out in the community as much as possible to tell our story. We found ourselves in a variety of venues. We were grateful for the opportunities to talk about how we are opening doors out of homelessness. We established written policies to add a housing component to the Main Frame Job Readiness Program and signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Caring Works, Inc. to partner together on this endeavor. We established an Advocacy Task Force to work with our Advocate, Elizabeth Appley. We also held our first Advocacy Training and Day at the Capitol events. We hired a new Program Assistant and Development Director.
