This Pride Month, we want to bring more awareness and more resources to LGBTQ+ homelessness. From questioning youth rejected by their families to those facing complications of HIV/AIDS, homelessness touches the LGBTQ community in a number of unique ways. Trans Housing Coalition
Trans-led and founded organization that began as a photography and grassroots crowdfunding project (The Homeless Black Trans Women Fund) aimed at getting chronically homeless Black Trans women off the streets.
THC utilizes a housing first, person-centered approach to get Trans folks into permanent, affirmative housing.
Lost-n-Found Youth
LNFY’s mission is to work with communities to end homelessness for LGBTQ youth by providing food, shelter and life stabilization services.
Trans Housing Atlanta
THA’s mission is to provide safe housing and appropriate supportive services to transgender and gender nonconforming (defined as any personal gender identity different or transgressive from the sex assigned at birth) individuals who are homeless to facilitate movement to independent living and promote productive employment and reduction of risky behaviors, or who seek intermediate or long-term housing that’s centered on the needs of transgender and gender nonconforming people.
AID Atlanta
AID Atlanta has been providing HIV/AIDS-related services, care, and education since its inception in 1982. The agency was established in response to the devastating impact that HIV/AIDS was having on the Atlanta community. In the face of fear and bigotry, founding members volunteered their time to provide support and education. The organization quickly expanded to engage Black and Latino populations and meet the evolving needs of our diverse community in response to the epidemic. Today, AID Atlanta offers a broad range of services and has grown to be the most comprehensive AIDS service organization in the Southeast. AID Atlanta currently offers HIV/AIDS prevention and care services, including (but not limited to) HIV Medical Care, HIV/STD Screening, PrEP, Community HIV Prevention Programs, Linkage Services, Case Management, and a state-wide Information Hotline. The mission of AID Atlanta is to reduce new HIV infections and improve the quality of life of its members and the community by breaking barriers and building community.
